For this familiy trip, we decided to try glamping at Jolotundo Edupark in Nganjuk, East Java. As it coincided with the Idul Fitri holiday, the campsite was fully booked and bustling with visitors. Luckily, we managed to get a Deluxe River View Camp for one-night stay. The drive from Kediri took around one and a half hours. While the route was easy to follow, some part of the roads were quite narrow, requiring extra caution.

We left Kediri 09.50
a.m and arrived at Jolotundo at around 11.36 a.m. As expected during the
holiday season, the area was quite crowded, and the parking lot was full,
although it was manageable.
As soon as we arrived,
we headed to the restaurant for lunch. The dining area was spacious, and there
seemed to be enough waitstaff to serve the guests efficiently. However, I
believe the kitchen was overwhelmed by the large number of visitors. I had to wait
for more than an hour for my meal, Nasi Tempong, to be served.
To be fair, the food
was delicious and worth trying. However, after such a long wait, I was already
quite hungry and eager to have my lunch.
After the rather chaotic lunch experience, we took a break in our Deluxe River View Camp. The acommodation was a semi-permanent tent equipped with complete facilities, including a private bathroom with a water heater, a television, and a private balcony with direct access to the river.
Besides the deluxe
camp, Jolotundo effers several other accomodation options, such as the Indian
Camp and Korean Glamping. Personally, I was more interested in the Korean
Glamping units because they resemble a real camping experience while
maintaining a charming and cozy atmosphere.
However, only Deluxe
Camp comes with a private bathroom and water heater. Considering that our group
included both toddlers and elderly family members, I quickly realized that
choosing the Deluxe camp was the right decision. The extra comfort and convenience
made our stay much more enjoyable.
The Deluxe Camp offers
many amenities that are comparable to those of a hotel. Besides the private
bathroom, my favorite feature was the balcony. It was spacious and provided
direct access to the river, allowing us to enjoy the natural surrounding right from
our room.
Another advantage of
staying in the Deluxe Camp was the exclusive access to separate riverside area
reserved for guests. No matter how crowded the main attraction became, we could
still relax and play in the river without being disturbed by large numbers of
visitors. It truly like a premium experience and was one of the highlights of
our stay.
Playing in the river was one of the most enjoyable activities at Jolotundo Edupark. In addition to the river, there were several outdoor activities available for an extra fee. My son especially enjoy horse riding and ATV rides.
For me, the ATV ride was one of the highlights
of our stay. The track was surprisingly challenging and took us through the
river, muddy trails, and uneven terrain. It was both exciting and adventurous,
offering the fun way to explore the area. It was truly an amazing experience!Horse Riding ATV Ride
The next morning, it
was time to check out. After spending some more time playing in the river
(again!) and enjoying a simple breakfast of fried rice and hot tea, we packed
our belongings and headed home.
Overall, I think
Jolotundo Edupark is a great destination for a family staycation. It offers
wonderful combination of nature, warm hospitality, comfortable accomodations,
and fun outdoor activities, all in one place. The exclusive riverside access
for Deluxe Camp guests was a definite bonus and made our stay even more
enjoyable.
One thing to keep in
mind, however, is the weather. If you plan to visit during the rainy season, be
extra cautious around the river, as the wather current can become strong and
potentially dangerous. With proper care and planning, Jolotundo Edupark can be
a memorable gateway for families looking to relax and reconnect with nature.
